Part I Architectural Assistant : Leeds Studio (12 month Placement)


Main Purpose:

Due to an expanding range of projects, we are seeking a talented RIBA Part I Architectural Assistant to join us at our Leeds Studio. Sharing our creative energy, the ideal candidate would be passionate about contextual, narrative-led design, driven for personal development and growth with a collaborative mindset.

This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of our dynamic team and support our design culture, with many opportunities for professional development across all RIBA workstages.

Reporting Lines:

Project Leader of the current project on a day-to-day basis and ultimately to the Studio Director.

Expected Tasks and Responsibilities::

The successful candidate will be contributing to projects within a range of sectors, working alongside project architects and directors with the common goal of high-quality design and project execution. The role will require excellent communication skills to work within the team, with a flexible and open attitude towards learning new skills.

Self-motivation is key, and candidates should demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks though good time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

Candidates should have good verbal, written and graphic communication skills. Candidates with excellent design skills, evidence of a good design understanding and a strong, demonstrable ability to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project will be preferred.

RIBA Part I or equivalent

Adobe Creative Suite, demonstrable basic knowledge of CAD software.

Revit / AutoCad (these are preferred but training will be provided). Microsoft Office, Excel

Summer work experience or work placement within an architectural practice.
