Technical Architect / Architectural Technologist – Manchester Studio

Main Purpose:

We are seeking a talented Technical Architect / Architectural Technologist to join our well established and award winning multi-disciplinary practice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a collaborative team environment to deliver technical and detailed design packages of information on large-scale, complex projects across multiple sectors from concept to completion.
We are a fast-paced and design driven practice with a proven track record in delivery and are looking for people that share our passion.

Reporting Lines:

Project Leader of the current project on a day-to-day basis and ultimately to the Studio Director.

Expected Tasks and Responsibilities::

Working understanding of the Planning process and Building Regulations
Capable of independently producing and reviewing technical packages of information
Ability to work under own initiative, establishing a proactive method of working
Good written, verbal and graphical communication skills
Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
Resourcefulness and willingness to research and develop new ideas and solutions. Assist with Client Liaison and attend design team meetings with other professionals. Develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of DLA Design’s procedures and standards including use of the DLA Business Management System.

The Role



RIBA Qualified / BSc Architectural Technology, or equivalent


A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package with in depth knowledge of Revit drafting software,


Minimum 3 years post-graduation / part 3, UK based experience.
Experience of project running / delivery / administration
High rise residential (relevant building) experience



MCIAT status


A good working knowledge and experience of NBS, Photoshop, InDesign & AutoCAD software.


Office Sector Experience
Experience of promoting sustainable design and inclusion within initial concept design work would be beneficial.
