CHANDLER’S PLACE : SEVENOAKS

DLA was successful in receiving planning consent for a mixed use development delivering new homes, public realm and retail spaces in a unique location on Sevenoaks High Street in Kent for our long-term client Freshwater. The professional team included TPS as Development Manager/Project Manager, Elliot Wood as Structural Engineer and Freeth’s as planning consultants.
Chandler’s Place is designed to open up the site for the local neighbourhood through the inclusion of a high-quality new public realm along the High Street and a dedicated public pedestrian route linking to the Kaleidoscope Arts centre as part of the town’s cultural quarter. The development aims to transform the current 1-acre derelict site into an integrated public realm environment providing 104 new homes and 3 retail units and an underground car park.
We have taken inspiration from the historic elements and features found in breweries and industrial buildings in the local area to create a narrative-led contextual contemporary architecture.
