Margate, one of DLA’s regeneration projects is located on the prominent site of the former amusement park “Dreamland”.

Through the design development process, DLA have taken the opportunity to engage in public consultation and subsequently arrived at design options, which describe an architectural fusion between people, history, sustainability and joy. We are proposing a project which merges heritage, culture and the vernacular with the future.

The project overlaps social and cultural programmes with habitual routines of daily life. The design addresses a full spectrum of accommodation types and employs design tactics aimed at embracing memories of the amusement park shared by several generations over the best part of a century.
