DLA have recently completed five contemporary terraced houses in Beckenham on behalf of Freshwater.

The proposal consisted of demolishing the existing six lock-up units and garages and establish a traditional design approach by responding to the neighbouring context through a series of pitched roofs and continuation of the street building line. The three middle terraced houses emphasise the rhythm and relationship with the adjacent buildings whilst the two end terraces adapt their geometry to the contrasting site factors.

A palette of materials consisting of brick, dark aluminium frames and red plain tiles have been carefully selected in order to ensure the scheme is sympathetic to the locality and is in harmony with the surrounding properties.
