The primary aim of this building renovation was to create a stimulating new educational facility for the 40,000 plus school children that visit Yorkshire Sculpture Park each year. As a charity, YSP rely upon alternative revenue streams and the new café space forms a vital source of income along with upgrading visitor facilities within this area of the park.

The budget was tight and therefore the renovation was designed to ensure the maximum flexibility of space creating a café, a dedicated lunch area for schools groups, offices and workshop space for artists and the YSP education team. Under floor heating has been installed served by air source heat pumps, minimising running costs.
