Sectors : Workplace
Client : London Borough of Islington
The aim of the project was to deliver a ‘flagship’ building that houses the ‘Children Looked After Service’ for the London Borough of Islington. The new building houses many different service areas, the majority of which are front-facing, delivering services directly to one or more of the following client groups: children and young people in need of protection, children and young people in care, parents or other relatives, kinship or foster carers, adopters, Islington residents interested in becoming foster carers or adoptive parents.
Professionals from a range of agencies including health, education, the Police, children’s centres, etc also frequently use the building. The existing teams were previously sited disparately across the borough, and this project brings them together onto one site and houses approximately 180 staff.
