FAMILY ARCHITECTURE DAY

Working alongside the Hepworth Gallery, DLA Design developed an architectural workshop to celebrate the Love Architecture Festival in June 2013.

The workshops were designed to educate visitors about the makeup of a city, allowing the public to have a go at creating their own “place” and watching how the city evolved under different influences.

Each visitor was presented with a prompt word (eg, river, bridge, house, tower, play, sculpture, park, school, shop, etc) They were then encouraged to build their structure from recycled and found materials.

When each model was finished it was added to the larger “city model” and as the day came to an end the Learning Studios was filled with the city of the future.
