Hessle High School and Sixth Form College is an £18.5 million refurbishment and new extension to the existing secondary school at Heads Lane, Hessle, to the west of Hull.

DLA’s client was Galliford Try Building Contractors who were undertaking the project on a D&B basis for the Education Funding Agency under the Priority Schools Building Programme.

The project included the refurbishment of Tranby House a grade 2 listed building in use by the school.

After an initial 6 week scheme design period to develop a control option for the funding of the project, a planning submission was worked up with the construction phase following in early 2015.
