Morrisons Supermarkets and its team of design specialists undertook a review of the existing Food Process & Manufacturing estate which supported their vertical supply strategy. This review identified potential improvements to product environments, storage capacity, temperature control, process flows and safeguarding future capacity as well as ensuring all existing and proposed environments met with the latest safety and food hygiene standards . This role out programme was initiated 2014 and is currently still ongoing.

These improvements have been in various forms such as new build, extensions, repurposing, re-configuration and adaptation to existing live sites such as Thrapston, Gadbrook, Cutler Heights, Latimer, Wakefield, Deeside amongst others. These works had to be sensitively scoped, scheduled and programmed as not to compromise the capacity of the existing.
