MILL LODGE CAMHS UNIT : YORK

Sectors : Healthcare

Client : Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

This was another successful scheme we delivered for the Trust following a great working relationship built over years of working together, with members of our healthcare team delivering numerous schemes. Mill Lodge was a refurb scheme of an existing elderly ward to become a new 17 bed CAMHs unit with High Dependency capacity. This was carried out under a JCT contract. The main objective for the client was the timescale for the scheme to be delivered, as the service had to move into the new facility by a specific date. Despite the time and money constraints, we delivered a scheme that the chairman of Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust considered “a beacon for services elsewhere”.

Our other work with the Trust included the refurbishment of two acute wards , a mother and baby unit and a 136 unit , which were all delivered within the restriction of a Grade 1 listed building and were part of the live campus. We followed these with the refurbishment of a two ward Male Low Secure unit which was carried out in a phased programme, as the Trust needed to keep some beds operational. This was completed by the new build of a 22 bed Women’s Low Secure unit, which adjoined the male facility and provided a new front entrance for both units. The above programmed works for the Trust were all carried out under the P21 and P21+ process using NEC 2 and NEC 3 contracts.
