A new build 4 storey medical centre to provide 15,000sq.ft of accommodation for the relocation of the existing Minden Medical Centre. The development forms part of a £30 million project for the redevelopment of Bury Town Centre to provide a high quality retail, residential and leisure development to regenerate a currently run-down area on the edge of the retail heart of Bury.

Our involvement started with the development of the schedule of accommodation through to the OBC and FBC stages through the construction phase providing architectural and CDMC services. In the early stages of this project the biggest challenging role was to meet and coordinate the requirements of the 4 GP practices and the Local PCT and develop a schedule of accommodate and develop a form that was efficient in accommodation by sharing support services facilities support were possible. In addition designing a project that was part of the area redevelopment required careful dialog with the local planners in the pre detail stages so that the health centre was seen as an consider a support in the regeneration of this area of Bury.

This large facility provides a walk-in centre providing services to the community from 7am to 10pm, 4 GP practices which includes 32 consulting rooms, 2 minor surgery units, x-ray imaging room, 7 community dentistry rooms and mental health. The medical centre also independent pharmacy. This approach to combine services has become a strong beacon to the regeneration to this area of Bury.
