The multipurpose arena forms part of a major retail, leisure and sports development fronting the Rhine Herne canal alongside the A42 Autobahn near Essen. The concourse level of the arena accommodates a food court and entertainment areas and provides access to 11,000 seats in ice hockey format, 13,000 seats in boxing format and 26 suites.
