PAEDS THEATRE & 3T MRI SCANNER : LEEDS

We were invited to submit proposals demonstrating innovative thinking for a new 3T MRI scanner and Hybrid theatre for the Trust.

Faced with restricted space in the existing third floor plan of the current theatre complex, and the need to maintain clinical operations in the unit during the addition of a new theatre and MRI scanner, the proposal we presented was in its majority a prefab extension to the existing accommodation.

The ‘outside the box’ thinking meant the existing operations would remain uninterrupted until the final break-through of the building fabric and services whilst the design solution minimised the work on the constrained site.
