PORTSOKEN HOUSE : LONDON

Sectors : Workplace / Re-Use

Client : McKay Securities PLC

Working closely with the client we analysed a range of opportunities to redevelop and re-brand this building to improve the quality, maximise its value and bring the building up to current BCO and institutional standards.

A careful strategic re-development strategy was chosen that worked with the existing tenant, targeting empty floors as they became vacant. One of the building’s significant constraints is its limited floor to ceiling heights which we overcame through an innovative ‘coffer and raft’ solution that required extensive M&E co-ordination.

In addition to the typical office floors we enhanced the reception and the other common areas, as well as redefining some difficult ground floor spaces. The completed areas have added considerable rental value and changed the buildings reputation within the Market.
