ROWING CLUB : LEEDS

The brief was to design an outdoor rowing facility at Thwiates Lane in Leeds.

The design utilises a palette of materials including a red reclaimed brick in reference to the industrial nature of the surrounding context and Thwaite Mill which is located across the river. The rowing clubhouse is clad in timber with varied stain finishes. This provides a strong contrast to the brick and helps break up the mass of the building through colour and articulation of the timber.
