THE LIFT : THE HUMBER BRIDGE EXPERIENCE – FILM

Sectors : Leisure / Masterplanning

Client : The Humber Bridge Board

Once the world’s longest suspension bridge, The Humber Bridge is an engineering masterpiece and a symbol of the region’s connectivity.

Commissioned by the Humber Bridge Board, DLA Architecture was tasked with reimagining its visitor experience to match these lofty credentials. The project was submitted for detailed planning in June 2016 ahead of Hull’s 2017 celebrations as UK City of Culture.

The proposed scheme included a glass lift that would take visitors to a viewing platform on top of the 510 ft (155m) north tower of the Bridge, as well as a new visitors centre. The visitor experience was designed to allow visitors to appreciate not only the engineering wonder of the bridge, but also the magnificent views of the estuary it crosses.

DLA’s graphics team created ‘THE LIFT : The Humber Bridge Experience’ brand which was used for the public consultation in May 2016. The brand was used on banners presenting information on the project alongside a bespoke animation.
