David Rushe

Job Role: Project Architect

Since graduating in 2010 David has gained a wealth of experience working in professional practice. David has worked for many award-winning practices on projects ranging from small to large scale; in the commercial, education and residential sectors. His projects have included new build, extension, and refurbishment designs on rural and urban sites, varying in complexity. David loves working closely with clients to deliver buildings that enhance and enrich our built environment through their design, materiality, look and feel. His favourite materials to work with are brick, concrete, and timber, and he is always looking to use these materials in interesting ways to create architecture that is striking and thematic.

David joined DLA Architecture in 2016. He has worked in the education, residential and commercial sectors during the early design stages of several projects. His recent work includes the design development and on-site delivery of a reimagined old printworks at 6-10 Market Road, Islington, London. Originally constructed in the late 80’s, in 2021 it was successfully converted into a 45,00 sq ft new London headquarters for a fashion/media occupier through the redevelopment and refurbishment of the existing building. David is currently on site with the new YMCA in Wimbledon, London, a new build project comprising of gym, café, office and a 121 room hostel due for completion in early 2023.
