Creating a Circular Economy Community

At RESI 360 earlier this month, Director Chris Levett discussed the challenges and benefits of creating circular economy communities through partnerships. He showcased DLA’s recently completed Wimbledon project, where 135 new build homes (phase 2) financed YMCA’s 121 homes for young and vulnerable people, with shared community amenities (phase 1). Chris also presented related London based community-led completed projects, St John’s Gardens in Hackney, Clapham One, and Wilton Way, which played a key role in saving London’s iconic Hackney Empire.

DLA specialise in designing homes for all walks of life, from student homes to senior living across the UK. As society’s needs have evolved, so has DLA—expanding into Co-living, Build to Rent, and intergenerational, multi-demographic schemes. We call this approach Blended Living, a multi-faceted solution to modern housing needs and residential-led regeneration.

Chris is passionate about and focuses on the progression of community-led solutions engaging all stakeholders with local government and councils tailored to the local context, ensuring each project reflects the unique history, connections, and the community’s own aspirations for regeneration.
