Emma Sykes

Architectural Technologist

Emma is an Architectural Technologist at DLA, with several years’ experience delivering complex projects across diverse sectors, including hotels, industrial developments, educational facilities, and specialist environments such as a fragrance manufacturing facility. Her work reflects a considered, technically rigorous approach, underpinned by an ability to navigate and resolve complex design and delivery challenges.

A First-Class graduate in Architectural Design & Technology from the University of Salford, Emma received both the CIAT Outstanding Graduate Student Award and the CABE Best Final Year Student award. Her work has since been featured in multiple CABE publications, demonstrating her ongoing contribution to the profession and commitment to design excellence.

Emma demonstrates advanced proficiency in Revit, using it as a central platform for the coordinated development and delivery of detailed, high-quality design information while supporting integrated team collaboration. She complements this with strong skills in associated design and visualisation tools, and is actively engaging with emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance design processes and efficiency.

Outside of her professional role, Emma maintains an active lifestyle, regularly competing in HYROX events and endurance running races, including half marathons, alongside strength training and hiking, and is also an enthusiastic skier and snowboarder.
