Kat McMillan

Kat joined DLA in October 2024 having completed her MA in July 2024. She has worked and studied both in architecture and interior architecture and welcomes the challenges presented by existing constraints; be that complex sites or existing structures. This said, she firmly believes adaptive re-use will become significantly more prevalent within our industries immediate trajectory and hopes to contribute to that through working on innovative, user-focussed re-imagination projects.

Skilled in the Adobe creative suite, Kat is particularly passionate about using Photoshop to craft concept collages that develop project narratives. She is in the process of mastering Revit families to effectively translate these concepts into bespoke design components.

Kat’s passion for design extends well beyond architecture into the realms of furniture and homewares. Among her personal favourites are Stark’s Alessi juicer and Breuer’s Wassily Chair – so much so she’s commemorated them with tattoos.
