Architectural Technologist Placement Student

About

We are seeking a talented Architectural Technologist Placement Student to join our well established and award winning multi-disciplinary practice during their year out. They will be supported by DLA to develop their skillset over the year to successfully complete their final year studies and move into full time employment.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience within an award winning practice by working within a collaborative team environment. They will be able to assist in delivering technical and detailed design packages of information on a variety of projects across multiple sectors from concept to completion.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Working understanding of the Planning process and Building Regulations.
• Capable of independently producing and reviewing technical packages of information.
• Ability to work under own initiative, establishing a proactive method of working.
• Good written, verbal and graphical communication skills.
• Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Resourcefulness and willingness to research and develop new ideas and solutions.
• Where appropriate assist with Client Liaison and attend design team meetings with other professionals.
• Develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of DLA Design’s procedures and standards including use of the DLA Business Management System.

 

The Candidate

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Working towards BSc Architectural Technology, or equivalent.
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package with knowledge of Revit drafting software.

 

DESIRABLE

• Good academic grades.
• In depth knowledge of Revit drafting software.
• A familiarity of UK building regulations and RIBA stages.
