About

We are seeking a motivated and talented Junior Architectural Technologist to join our well-established, award-winning, multi-disciplinary practice. The successful candidate will be supported by DLA in developing their technical expertise and professional skillset within a nurturing and forward-thinking studio environment.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within an award-winning practice, working collaboratively as part of a dynamic team. You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality technical and detailed design information across a diverse range of projects and sectors, supporting schemes from initial concept through to completion. You will work closely with the Project Leader on a day-to-day basis and report ultimately to the Studio Director. In addition, the role will involve shadowing experienced team members, with responsibilities and mentoring tailored to specific tasks and project requirements.

 

 

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Working understanding of the Planning process and Building Regulations.
  • Capable of independently producing and reviewing technical packages of information.
  • Ability to work under own initiative, establishing a proactive method of working.
  • Good written, verbal and graphical communication skills.
  • Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Resourcefulness and willingness to research and develop new ideas and solutions. Where appropriate assist with Client Liaison and attend design team meetings with other professionals.
  • Develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of DLA Design’s procedures and standards including use of the DLA Business Management System.

 

The Candidate

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Working towards BSc Architectural Technology, or equivalent.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package with basic understanding of Revit.

DESIRABLE

  • Good academic grades.

They will communicate ideas confidently and clearly, valuing feedback and seeking input from others to ensure shared understanding.
