DLA Strengthens Leeds Team with Director Promotion and Key Residential Hires

DLA is pleased to announce the promotion of Matt Lawson to Director in its Leeds studio, alongside the appointment of Nick Wright and Lana Ismail as part of its growing residential team.

Matt joined DLA in 2007 and brings nearly 20 years of experience delivering projects across a variety of work sectors, with a focus on industry and logistics, as well as the wider commercial market. He has extensive experience in the technical delivery of complex projects and navigating regulatory compliance from inception through to completion, most recently achieving Gateway 2 approval on the Lisbon Street BtR project in Leeds in the role of Principal Designer.

Nick Wright joins with a strong track record across high-rise residential, purpose-built student accommodation and co-living, delivering projects through all RIBA work stages. He has over a decade of experience in high quality design across a range of sectors, including as lead on the multi award winning Welcome Building at RHS Garden Bridgewater. Nick also sits on the newly formed Salford Design Review Forum.

Recently elected Vice President of the Leeds Society of Architects, Lana Ismail brings over 10 years of architectural experience, with a strong focus on student accommodation. She has played a key role in delivering major developments, such as Symons House in Leeds and Cirrus Point – a landmark 45-storey scheme set to become, on completion, the tallest building in Leeds and the world’s tallest purpose-built student accommodation.

Tom Dobson, Director leading DLA’s Leeds studio, said:
“We are delighted to announce Matt’s promotion to Director, further strengthening the leadership of our industry and logistics team. New projects in our residential and workplace sectors has led to further growth of the team in Leeds studio; the appointments of Nick and Lana further enhances our expertise.”
