Hyatt Leeds | 305 Rooms | Finalist for 2 Awards & Tours in October at dla@Hyatt

Hyatt Place & Hyatt House Leeds has cemented its status as a key milestone in Sovereign Square’s regeneration — and for the city itself. Already featured in Premier Hospitality and a finalist at the Yorkshire Property Awards and National Building & Construction Awards, the hotel’s impact continues to grow.

The vision was clear: create more than a hotel — deliver a multifunctional environment that blends hospitality, work, and leisure.

“It’s not just about sleeping, eating, and drinking anymore,” says Matt Lawson, Associate Director & Technical Lead. “Hotels must become flexible social hubs for remote workers, travellers, and local communities alike.”

Architecturally, the hotel honours Leeds’ industrial heritage with a contemporary twist. Structural arches reflect nearby railway viaducts, while interiors feature bespoke details like owls inspired by the city’s crest. Guest rooms and communal spaces are designed for adaptability, welcoming both business and long-stay guests.

Fully electric and driven by sustainable strategies, the building incorporates passive ventilation, high-efficiency systems, and reduced water use. Mark Redfern, Associate Director & Design Lead, says:

“This is a proud moment not just for DLA, but for Leeds. Hyatt has brought something truly meaningful to the city’s evolving identity.”

The hotel also stood at the heart of UKREiiF, hosting major events that showcased its role as a new Leeds landmark.

October tours are coming up — experience it for yourself at dla@Hyatt.
