Oliver Watson

Architect

Oliver is a Senior Architect, ARB, RIBA and MSc in energy and the environment. Having joined DLA in 2021, he has a range of experience across multiple sectors with particular knowledge within Education. Oliver has delivered several primary and large secondary school projects, including developments on complex urban sites with multiple uses. Now focused on the Further Education sector he creates interesting and specialist education environments such as a new centre for plumbing, electrical and renewable teaching.

Oliver enjoys the wide range of project work from inception and initial client discussions, through to a focus on materials and careful attention to good detailing and low carbon construction. He has an interest in heritage projects and was project architect for Sir John Soanes house at Pitzhanger Manor in Ealing, which included a new restaurant and art gallery.

Holding a part time teaching position at Kent School of Architecture, Canterbury he enjoys supporting younger staff and knowledge sharing across the studio.

Outside of the office Oliver is a volunteer leader for co-operative youth group The Woodcraft Folk, helping organise group activities and camps for children aged 6 to 16. He also enjoys MTB, hiking and trips to the mountains. Having spent several years working as a joiner Oliver enjoys woodwork when can find the time, he also practices Tai Chi and is currently learning the sword form.
