Jonathan Knowles

Jonathan joined DLA in 1997, as Group Director he is responsible for offering support and direction to all studio staff. His primary roles include direct client liaison, to ensure that client and project design aspirations are met. Jonathan offers a commercial overview to project assignments gained through considerable project experience and sector ranges, making sure value is considered and recognising the need to carefully consider resource available to deliver best value.

He operates across all office locations for specialist project input and is directly linked to key clients in both public and private sectors with particular interest in large scale community led mixed use schemes with the additional responsibility for the master planning element of the business considering client engagement through brief conception and strategic planning.

As a Pt 3 lecturer at MMU Jonathan offers insights into work generation and early-stage client engagement including procurement methods, scope of service and fee setting. He is also a guest speaker at Runshaw Six Form College’ civils and built environment department offering an insight to the varying roles within the construction industry.

He is fascinated with air travel partially due to being brainwashed by his father who was part of the design team on Concorde.
