TriBeKa: A new chapter for Leeds’s Civic Quarter.

TriBeKa Leeds is a modern 514-bed student accommodation in the heart of Leeds City Centre which opened its doors in September 2024. The new build development offers en-suite rooms and studios with high-end amenities that focus on creating a sense of community for its residents.

Located on Cookridge Street, it’s just minutes from both Leeds Beckett University and the University of Leeds. The 20-storey tower, the tallest building completed by DLA, includes a gym, café area, sky lounge, and study spaces. It is also one of the first commercial developments connected to the Leeds District Heating system, which provides a low carbon energy source for the building. With stylish interiors and a prime location near shops and nightlife, TriBeKa offers students a vibrant and convenient living experience.

Designed with sustainability and efficiency in mind, the building features a pre-cast concrete panel façade system to streamline construction and enhance performance. Lead Architect, Craig Cook, explained:

“Material selection was key to balancing aesthetics, sustainability, and programme efficiency. A pre-cast concrete panel façade system was chosen to streamline the construction programme, with two-storey-height panels reducing crane hook time. The increased thermal mass of this envelope enhances energy efficiency, provides a robust response to fire concerns whilst engaging positively with the civic context of the site location.”
