Andrew Hargreaves

With over 35 years’ experience at DLA, Andrew leads the business management function of the practice including Quality & Environment Standards, Health & Safety, Contracts and Appointments including ‘day to day’ management activities to ensure that the practice maintains the high standards expected by our clients.

Along with the rest of the Group Board he is responsible for developing strategic objectives to see that the practice maintains its position at the forefront of architectural design supported by the latest technological advancements in the profession.

Andrew he has worked on the technical delivery of a diverse range of commissions in various sectors including retail, sport and leisure, industrial and offices with responsibility for a number of key repeat client relationships. One of Andrew’s key strengths is the depth of his technical rigor, which he has now applied to the management of the practice.

In 2015, he obtained a NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety to support the practice’s transition to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, demonstrating our commitment to Health and Safety. Recently, he has updated internal project management procedures to align with the Building Regulations amendments effective October 1, 2023, ensuring compliance for designers and principal designers.

Andrew is keen to see that all staff within the practice are provided with the opportunity to develop their career at DLA and to contribute to the success of the practice for years to come through a strategy of planned professional development and succession.
