Mark Hargreaves

Mark joined DLA in 2015, he is a Director and Chartered Architect with considerable experience in the education sector, particularly in developing design solutions for Schools and Colleges under DfE Frameworks.

His expertise lies in conceptualising ideas and developing them into commercially viable solutions, adding value to exceed clients’ aspirations through innovation and collaboration. During all stages Mark leads discussions with the client, sponsors and school representatives to develop and agree a design which is innovative, creative and makes the best use of space whilst also ensuring the schools is fully functional based on DfE legislative guidance.

He possesses a successful and award-winning track record with extensive lead design, and delivery experience in the education and school’s sector. As lead designer, he recently pioneered kit of parts school solutions and digital platform approaches for various clients and contractors and has led and won batch specific bids for the DfE’s PSBP and Modular Construction Framework frameworks. His team work closely with various national Tier 1 contractors to deliver both kit of parts and bespoke education buildings for SEND, Primary, Secondary, HE and FE clients. More latterly, Mark is delivering a multitude of projects on the MMC framework, and the DfE Construction Framework both as a Design advisor and Architectural lead.

Mark has outstanding design skills, and a full understanding of educational guidance documents. He regularly presents at education conferences incl. Education Estates and Modular Matters.
